What is an Oral Surgeon?
As an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Marshall Baldassarre manages a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth, and facial regions. Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. Dr. Baldassarre practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. We can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries, and fractures.
What is a Periodontist?
A Periodontist is a dentist who specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal (gum) disease and in the placement and maintenance of dental implants. Periodontists are experts in the treatment of all forms of periodontal disease, including: gingivitis, periodontitis, and gingival recession.
The American Dental Association recognizes periodontics as one of the nine specialties of dentistry. Periodontists receive extensive training, including three years of additional education beyond dental school.
By choosing a specialist you will benefit from the latest procedures for treating periodontal disease and placing dental implants tailored to your needs. In addition, Dr. Pamela Baldassarre can perform cosmetic periodontal procedures to help you achieve the smile you desire.
The surgical staff members at our office are experienced, highly trained surgical assistants who assist with the administration of IV sedation and surgery. All surgical staff members are CPR certified.
